Thats right, I would like to sell this car for $600, but there are reasons for that low price.
This 1993 Buick Park Avenue has 127,000 miles on it. It has a new windshield and all of the glass is in fine shape - no defects or cracks and all of the power windows work. It has a new battery (four months old) and has had regular oil changes for years. Stereo and speakers are fine. The heat works, but the A/C does not. It runs without fail and normally has an average MPG of 18 to 22 miles, depending on the route. It is registered in Minnesota and has recently made four trips back and forth, as well as a trip to Toronto just a few weeks ago.
There are some considerable maintenance issues with this car. First, there is some body damage, but nothing severe - the grill is smashed and there is significant rust on the rocker panels. Second, there is a fuel leak. It prevents a clean start, but cranking the starter for a few seconds gets it eventually. Also, the tires are about two years old. Finally, there is an issue with the steering column (possibly the power steering) as it sometimes takes a bit more force to make a hard left turn.
I know that almost no one wants to pay for a beat-up car. I would keep it but I dont want to continue paying insurance AND resolve these maintenance issues, especially since the parking situation where I live is atrocious and I am able to walk or bus to most of my destinations. However, I know that some people around here could use a cheap car, even if it is just a winter beater. It has plenty of room for four people and a lot of trunk storage. I have all of the necessary title information.
I will consider trades (interested in newer bicycles, music instruments, and computers). Otherwise, if you know of any educational programs or auto tech charities that might be interested, I would appreciate more information on that.
