Accounting Assistant for Busy Manhattan Firm

Controller is looking for an experienced accounting assistant for busy real estate development/management office in Manhattan.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum (2) years experience assisting with real estate/property management/accounting activities
- Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and effective organizational and problem solving skills.
- Self initiator with the ability to problem solve.
- Must also be able to develop effective working relationships with staff, vendors, contractors, and tenants.
- Ability to draft and write detailed notes, communications to tenants, vendors, and contracted firms
- Assists with overseeing and coordinating property management, maintenance, and construction activities associated with residential and commercial tenants.
- Experience with Quickbooks required

DUTIE INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

- Process weekly payroll
- Prepare and send tenant statements and rent statements
- Assist in collection efforts
- Reconcile accounts, bank statements, mortgage statements, and loan accounts
- Knowledge of G/L, A/R, and A/P
- Assist in the monthly and quarterly close
- Assist in preparation of annual audit
- Help cover phones
