Math Tutor (Grade 6-12)

I have been tutoring public and private middle and high school students for the past 15 years in pre-algebra, algebra I, geometry, algebra II, probability/statistics/trigonometry, MCAS and SAT. I also spent five months tutoring students who were at risk for failing the 10th grade math MCAS at the Greater Lawrence Technical School.

My background is actually in engineering, having received a bachelors degree in civil engineering and a masters degree in environmental engineering from WPI. Two years ago, I passed the middle school math teacher license exam.

Every student is different. Every session is a mini-project management exercise, working as a team to best utilize an hour to cover the most ground (organizational skills, teaching, homework, review for tests/quizzes). My goal is to get students confident enough so that they dont feel defeated when faced with math.
