My name is Matt Gore and I have been teaching classical and improvisational piano for two years, usually coming to studentshouses for lessons. I majored in piano at Penn State Main Campus and have been routinely playing at various events (church services, graduations, weddings) for about 10 years using piano, keyboard and even keytar! While finishing graduate school, I’ve been teaching 5 or 6 students usually between the ages of 6 and 15. However, before graduation from Westminster Theological Seminary this December, I aim to already be teaching piano full-time morning, afternoon and evening. My geographical area for teaching is generally between Glenside and Havertown, PA and about 15 minutes around either town. Cost per lesson is $25 for 30 minutes and $30 for a 45-minute lesson.
I’m available to teach classical piano to students of all ages and experience, but I’m especially useful, it seems, to beginners as well as those with interest in improvisation, reading chord charts, playing by ear, etc. With all of my students, I try to keep a balance of carefully learning classical technique while also (where they want to) helping them away from dependence on the notes on the page. You may contact me via email at matt.gore@gmail.com or call at 484.645.6028. Thanks!
