A Director of Research:
•Follows health policy thought through reading, collaboration with Government Affairs, and other clinical leaders to identify opportunities for clinical development and new initiatives in order to drive new programs for development. Provides executive summary to senior leadership for further review and possible implementation.
•Directs and oversees the selection of clinical outcome measures within Specialties and partners with Specialties leadership on the integration of outcomes.
•Develops and maintains best practices for identifying and vetting research opportunities from the field.
•Develops the infrastructure to establish collaborative relationships with research institutions including contract strategies, formulation of committees and review boards, tracks partnerships, projects, and contracting initiatives, etc.
•Identifies list of strategic research partnerships and establishes formal relationships with target research partners that furthers Gentiva’s clinical research strategies and initiatives.
•Collaborates with specialty national leads in a cross-functional relationship to identify clinical research projects and oversees the project to enhance Gentiva’s clinical offerings and patient services and to improve clinical efficacy.
•Working with clinical development leadership and other clinical leaders, identifies research opportunities that communicate the value of Gentiva and home care services in general.
•Identifies, socializes, and implements the use of outcome measures that promotes research, operational consistency, communication with interested parties (i.e., congress, payors, and various physician groups) and assesses and addresses the needs of each group.
•Collaborates with clinical development leadership team to ensure affective integration and buy-in of appropriate outcome measure selection. Will also collaborate with clinical development leadership team on how best to use outcome tools, metrics and data in the sales process.
•Coaches, mentors and serves as a resource to the national leads in conducting research, co-authoring papers, and reviewing research design.
•Becomes a member and ingrains oneself in the clinical research community. May co-author with research partners in the publishing of papers in peer reviewed journals. Identifies opportunities to lead key professional organizations.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Speech Language Pathology, Occupational or Physical Therapy or related clinical field of study.
•Master’s or Doctorate degree is highly preferred.
•Minimum of seven years working in a clinical research environment with two years experience leading and/or advising teams.
•Working knowledge of clinical research methodologies and proven ability in creating and evaluating research design.
•Ability to negotiate with academic research partners.
•Good oral and written communication skills.
•Must be able to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with multiple groups.
