Research Associate/Associate Scientist - In Vivo Pharmacology
The Research Associate/Associate Scientist will work in a fast-paced startup environment, working on challenging projects to meet critical company goals. Key responsibilities will include:
Perform diabetes research on rat and mouse animal models
Implement pharmacokinetics (PK) studies for new diabetes therapeutics
Report PK data and assist management in determining PK parameters
Carry out safety studies on novel therapeutics
Maintain testing records
Prepare materials
Execute procedures for chemical preparation and characterization
Document and validate preparation and characterization procedures
Maintain laboratory materials inventory
Qualifications
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in the areas of biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, immunology, pre-med, animal science, or related field
3-5 years of experience working with laboratory animals, preferably Sprague-Dawley rat models (industry experience highly preferred)
At least 1-2 years of expertise working with catheterized animal models is highly desired, including infusing therapeutics and blood sampling through cannulas, as well as cannula flushing and maintenance
Proficiency with intraperitoneal injections, subcutaneous injections, tail-vein blood and serum sampling
Experience with simultaneous, multiple animal timed serum collection highly desirable
Candidates must live local and be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Green Card Holder
