Vida Health Communications, Inc. (vida-health.com) seeks experienced bilingual (English/Spanish) freelance interviewers for part-time work December 2009 through February 2010, plus a required half day of paid training in Cambridge, MA.
In a project funded by National Institutes of Health, Vida is evaluating a workshop for pregnant women on how to protect their fetus from environmental hazards. A total of 15 to 20 workshops will be conducted, mainly in the evening, at WIC offices in the Greater Boston area, including Lawrence and Lowell. Immediately after each workshop a team of 5 interviewers will each conduct one or two 30-minute in-person interviews with workshop participants. Over the three months, each interviewer will conduct an average of 20-24 interviews (about 6-8 in Spanish).
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have:
experience conducting survey research (on sensitive topics, or vulnerable populations a plus)
superior written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish,
stellar references,
transportation to field sites,
be highly organized, and
utterly reliable.
Pay will include $100 for the training, plus - assuming two hours of travel to and from study sites - $75 for the first interview at a site, and $25 for an additional interview if needed, plus mileage or public transportation cost.
