The job is a laboratory job involving the establishment and execution of in vitro assays using human and rodent immune and neural cells as well as carrying out pharmacological profiling in animal models of demyelination and remyelination.Functional TasksWorking in the laboratory at the Cambridge/Billerica site to work on in vitro and in vivo models and assays for Neuroimmunology.Contribute to the execution of targets for MS.Interact with cross functional groups in a productive manner.Design and carry out experiments with some supervision from the Group Leader; organize and carry out tasks of a moderate complex.Collaborate with internal and external scientists in bringing projects forward in the portfolio.Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in providing the Group Leader and other upper managers with portfolio and project updates on a regular basis.Education/LanguagesBachelors degree in Neuroscience or Immunology ; knowledge of Immunology required.Professional & Technical SkillsFive years minimum experience in research, preferred to have research experience in pharmaceutical industry.Demonstrated abilities in techniques in Immunology and neural cell biology.Demonstrated flexibility and ability to be a team player.Hands on experience in the laboratory and understanding of in vitro cell-based models using immune cells and glial cells (astrocytes, microglia, and oligodendrocytes).Understanding and ability to work with EAE models and models of de/remyelination (Cuprizone, etcDemonstrated communications skills.Excellent organization skills.
