Seeking a Full-time Mid Level Environmental Scientist to fill a position at a full service Environmental Firm located in Waipahu. The candidate will work under a variety of indoor/outdoor conditions.
Requirements of the position are as follows:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science, Geology or Engineering
Current 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification
Minimum 2 years of environmental experience
Ability to assist and manage complex projects
Possess the knowledge of State and Federal regulations including, but not limited to, TSCA, DOH HEER, and the EPA.
Be able to communicate effectively with clients and State Regulators.
Excellent verbal, written, multi-tasking, and communication skills
Detailed, hard working, conscientious, and punctual.
Valid Driver’s License, clean abstract, and current auto insurance to travel to and from job sites.
Able to travel to the neighbor islands, overnight stay required on occasion
Must be able to bend and lift over 50 lbs, climb ladders and work in areas that may be difficult to access.
Basic Job Description:
Plan and conduct site investigations to include Phase I and Phase II site assessments
Collect various types of samples (i.e. soil, groundwater, wastewater, oil, air/gas, solid waste, lead paint, and asbestos)
Assist with coordinating projects
Experience is helpful in the knowledge of generating hazardous waste manifest documents, profiles, and labels.
Interpret data, prepare and execute technical reports
