Overview
Article One Partners is a web-based patent research company that searches for prior art. Prior art refers to the entire body of publicly available information that can potentially invalidate a patent by showing that its ideas were known by the date of invention of the patent. Invalidating prior art shows that an invention described in the claims of a patent existed before a date of invention. Prior art can also be used to establish the strength of a patent.
Position Summary
Article One Partners needs a patent translator. We are looking for a person who speaks fluent Japanese, Mandarin, and/or Korean, and also has a background in the chemical or biological sciences. Ideall, this job would be best suited for a student whose first language is in one of these languages, and who also is in school studying biology or chemistry. This position is a part-time position, between three to five hours per week. The applicant will work on his or her own schedule.
Requirements
-Applicant must be able to Japanese, Korean, and/or Mandarin.
-Applicant must be detail-oriented.
-Applicant should be MS Office proficient.
-Applicant must able to work independently with moderate supervision.
-Applicant must have a background in a field of science.
Compensation: $15 an hour.
