We have an immediate opening for a skilled molecular biologist to join a multi-disciplinary product development team. The key functions of this position are to design, develop and trouble shoot real time PCR assays for integration into disposable diagnostic devices. This includes reagent sourcing and qualification, and coordination of development efforts from prototype to commercial product.
Experienced candidate must :
* have a PhD in molecular biology with minimum 4-6 years PCR assay development and multiplexing; or
* have a BS/MS degree in biochemistry / molecular biology with 10+ years of industry experience in assay development;
* be experienced working in a project-milestone framework;
* be a self starter able to work independently on multiple projects in parallel;
* have experience converting assays from the bench to commercial production;
* be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with an inter-disciplinary team, customers and others;
Experience in diagnostic assay development a plus;
Knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, standard operating procedure (SOP) and good laboratory practices (GLP) procedures desirable
