Oregon Health & Science University, a nationally recognized academic health center, provides an uncommon array of clinical services, education and research opportunities. We are currently seeking an extraordinary individual to fill this position.
The Community and Practice Research (CPR) program seeks to work collaboratively with community organizations, healthcare practices and researchers to study how best to improve the health of Oregonians and the broader American public. Because health and health behaviors are affected by the social and physical environments we live in, community-based research is extremely important - but also complex. Community and provider involvement is needed and will enable our translational research programs to develop and conduct scientifically sound, culturally appropriate research with real-world applicability. Our program benefits from existing relationships with many communities and practice networks, and we plan to further expand these efforts. The CPR Program Coordinator has the primary responsibility of conducting day to day activities associated with the Community and Practice Research program of the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute (OCTRI), a program which spans both OHSU and the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research. This position will involve outreach to organizations and individuals interested in community and practice-based research, program administrative duties, intra and inter-institutional communication (newsletter, website), and research support to community and practice partners as well as academic investigators. This individual will also be involved in discussions regarding program direction and activities.
