Our Forestry Division, Ryderwood District, has an opening for a qualified Forester with experience in regeneration activities to help manage the Companys timberlands in Lewis and Cowlitz Counties in Southwest Washington. The successful applicant will be required to relocate to the area.
Primary Duties:
Preparation of annual regeneration programs including the setup and administration of planting, vegetation control, thinning, burning, site preparation and other vegetation management projects.
Administration of contracts including logging, road construction and reforestation.
Miscellaneous forestry-related work that requiring physical activity, such as assisting in burning.
Preparation and administration of Forest Practice Applications.
Qualifications:
BS in Forestry, Natural Resources, or related field and 2+ years of varied forestry field experience.
Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
Understanding of logging, road construction and reforestation operations.
Computer skills - experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and some experience with GIS-based software programs helpful.
Ability to obtain Washington Pesticide Applicator certification.
Ability to work as a "team" member.
Ability to work in arduous conditions.
Ability to work with State regulatory agencies.
A valid Washington drivers license.
