With a clear focus on the patient and a leadership presence in the biopharmaceutical industry, EMD Seronos US footprint continues to grow, with more than 1000 employees around the country and fully integrated commercial, clinical and research operations in the companys home state of Massachusetts.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:This position is responsible for establishing, developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with members of the medical community and serving as a technical, scientific and medical expert in a specialty area neurology. The candidate must have a solid understanding of the science and medicine supporting EMD Serono, Inc. neurology products. The candidate will contribute to the overall understanding of the disease state and EMD Serono, Inc.s products within their assigned territorial region. In addition, the candidate will play a critical role in coordinating and conducting professional education, consultant programs and one to one peer exchange. The candidate should be well versed in the technical details of the specific disease process, treatment data and be able to share this knowledge effectively in the conduct of their function.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Functions as a authoritative reference for healthcare providers in a particular disease area neurology, using approved national templates and approved materials.Provides in-depth scientific, clinical, and educational support through the dissemination of pertinent educational, scientific, and clinical information on the specific disease state and its treatment.Leads, develops and implements regional educational programs for healthcare providers to advance the science and medicine related to EMD Serono, Inc. products.Represents EMD Serono, Inc. Inc. at specific programs, medical meetings and conventions.Supports Managed Care Specialists by presenting the scientific rationale for the use of EMD Serono, Inc.s products as an adjunct to their discussions with reimbursement agencies.Liaises with the Medical Affairs staff on the development and implementation of medical initiatives both nationally and regionally.Administers and monitors appropriate budget expenditures to meet the responsibilities as outlined above.

QUALIFICATIONS:Advanced degree (PhD, Pharm D, MD or Masters) in life sciences required.Minimum of 3 years of proven medical and scientific success with specialty area experience preferred.Previous pharmaceutical or biotech MSL experience preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Excellent organizational skills and abilityHighly developed interpersonal skills and teamworkExtensive (75%) regional travel will be required to discharge duties in connection with this position. Travel will include periodic national meetings and may include international conferences.
