General Functions: This individual will manage Seattle Biomedical Research Institute’s Blood Draw Program including blood draws, scheduling, donor payment and pay reconciliations. This position is a non-exempt, non-supervisory position.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
I. Schedule weekly blood draw appointments for entire Institute as requested by labs. This includes scheduling a material preparation appointment with the lab member and a second blood draw appointment with the donor.
II. Prepare materials for the blood draw appointments. Draw blood and return blood to lab contact.
III. Track and manage blood draw consent forms and SBRI’s Blood Draw Database.
IV. Pay blood draw donors and prepare monthly payment reconciliations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is typically performed in climate controlled laboratory and office settings. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop and perform light lifting. Must have sufficient aural and visual acuity to perform job duties and manual dexterity sufficient to operate phones, computers, and other office or laboratory equipment. While performing duties of this job this position may occasionally be exposed to selected hazards (radioactive materials, infectious agents, blood/patient samples, recombinant DNA molecules, flammable chemicals), sufficient training and monitoring will be provided if exposure exists. A capability assessment for work with hazardous materials and/or fit testing for respirator will be required for use of these materials. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two years of phlebotomy experience.
Must be a certified Phlebotomist.
High school diploma required, Bachelor of Science Degree preferred.
Additional requirements as specified by the Hiring Manager.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Part-time, non-exempt position (15-18 hours/week). Hired by Vice President of Operations and Finance. Monday, Wednesday, Friday work schedule preferred.
