The Environmental Outreach and Stewardship (EOS) Alliance is seeking a Marketing and Event Planning Assistant.
Duties include the following:
- Researching current environmental issues, science, technology, and methods for incorporation into new or existing professional training events;
- Recruiting event instructors/speakers with expertise in appropriate topics with good communication/teaching skills;
- Ensuring event instructors/speakers are informed of EOS Alliance expectations regarding their services, compensation, and required paperwork;
- Coordinating development of high quality workshop curricula by developing course material directly and/or assisting course instructor’s development of course materials;
- Creating and distributing event marketing information to potential event participants via web sites, email, printed material, phone calls, and professional networks;
- Hosting events in person by traveling to event location and ensuring that all aspects of each event occur in a high quality, professional manner, and that any aspect that fails to meet standard expectations is quickly remedied;
- Hosting events remotely by ensuring the event facility staff and event instructors/speakers have a clear understanding of their roles in ensure the success of the event so that all aspects of the event are taken care of; and
- Ensuring that written and photographic records are kept of each event by taking measures to ensure all events attended by EOS Alliance staff are photographed, accurate records of the attendees and progress toward Strategic Priority goals are maintained, and course evaluation forms are collected, summarized, and recorded.
Desired skills and qualifications:
- Strong personal commitment to ecological sustainability and EOS Alliance’s mission and vision;
- College degree in related field with applicable job experience;
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills;
- Proficiency with important Apple Macintosh software including: MS Office, Dreamweaver, Fetch, Adobe Acrobat Writer, Illustrator, and Photoshop;
- Understanding of the Apple Macintosh and OS X operating system and trouble shooting;
- Understanding of environmental science and policy issues, trends, and best practices;
- Understanding of the environmental business sector and the training needs associated with it;
- Willingness to work long hours, including occasional evening and weekends, to advance EOS Alliance’s mission while meeting the technical demands of the position;
- Willingness to travel for extended periods (up to seven continuous days);
- Practical and reasonable disposition with the ability to focus simultaneously on the big picture and the steps necessary to get there;
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality without sacrificing productivity;
- Salesforce experience; and
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Location: Georgetown Neighborhood (Seattle)
Compensation: $15 - $17/hr (~$31,200 - $35,360 per year), paid vacation days and paid holidays, medical and dental insurance, training
