PRIMARY FUNCTION
Use a variety of laboratory and production equipment to make and test samples of R&D materials. This includes recognizing, recording and communicating significant occurrences during process steps. Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory processes and ensure that processes are operating within specified guidelines. Interface with front end operators and technicians to benefit either R&D or production work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Confidential Information: Trade secrets, proprietary information, NDA controlled information, customer information and supplier information
Contact With Others: Interaction with R&D technicians, engineers and principle investigators, as well as cross-functional workgroups of
production, design and test personnel
Errors/Problem Resolution: Errors may result in damaged equipment, damaged product and re-work, repeat testing, late deliveries of developmental parts,
misguided changes in project direction, project implementation delays.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
·High school diploma or equivalent ·Basic reading and math skills ·Strong English skills both verbal and written
·Minimum 5 years experience working in a technical, scientific or mechanical field ·Materials laboratory experience strongly preferred ·Experience working with fixtures, hand tools, equipment controllers Experience with vacuum systems, soldering, and pressure equipment desired Manipulate small-scale materials (typically using a microscope) Computer experience with word processing and spreadsheet software required (MS Word and Excel desired) ·Demonstrated ability to work in a team based environment .Desire to learn new skills and methods for producing resultsAnticipate and coordinate multiple priorities
·Read and follow equipment manuals and outline procedures ·Maintain non-routine records ·Good interpersonal and communication skills ·Work with a high standard of ethics, professionalism, and competency
