Position Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
* Generate revenues at or above achievable sales goals.
Manage business effectively in order to bring sales through the sales cycle and close orders.
Learn technology and be able to successfully demonstrate life science products to prospects.
Learn competitive information to successfully win orders.
Gain intimate knowledge of accounts within territory and manage these accounts effectively.
Work in the field to better educate potential customers on the benefit of our products. While working in the field, maintain constant contact with other reps and home office via phone and email.
Work with inside sales representatives on quotations for products that meet the customerspricing and application needs.
Work with inside sales and customer service reps for lead follow-up and quotation generation.
Customize promotional letters tailored to prospectsneeds.
Working with prospective customers on in bound calls to answer complicated questions and promote products.
Tracking all hot leads and prospects to ensure follow-up and guidance to purchasing.
National Trade Show attendance with local representatives and other company personnel.
Support and promote sales at vendor shows.
Collaborate with partner companies on seminars and shows.
Maintain account management through use of SaleForce.com.
Effectively establish rapport with prospects and customers to successfully close sales.
Motivating and working with a diverse group of customers with varying needs.
Position Requirements (education/knowledge/skill/experience):
B.S. Degree in a life science field
2-5 years successful life science industry sales experience desirable
Previous experience selling into NIH required
Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills required
Must be detail oriented
Technical background with CCD imaging experience preferred
Gel Electrophoresis and chemiluminescence application experience preferred
Position requires travel 50-75% of the month to prospect, support existing customers, demonstrate and install equipment, and attend trade shows
Time management in the field to balance supporting customers and closing orders.
Arranging travel between many locations 50-75% of the month to maximize applications support and sales time.
Learning CCD imaging technology to effectively demonstrate products.
Learning microarray product technology to effectively demonstrate products.
Learning benefits, strengths and specifications of Alpha Innotech products.
Learning competitive specifications and weaknesses to inform customers thoroughly and accurately of product differences.
* Strong desire to win business and establish long-term customer relationships.
* Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to lift 35#.
