-Responsible for providing effective scientific and tehnical expertise in the management and conduct of clinical studies to support product development in the assigned therapeutic area specialty. The position requires management of the planning, initiation, completion, and reporting of Phase I through Phase III clinical studies to support the development and marketing of drug products. The successful candidate will supervise a team dedicated to the conduct of scientifically sound clinical trials.
-Develop functional unit plans for clinical development of candidate drugs
-Manage initiation, completion, and reporting of clinical studies
-Monitor and review clinical data for trends, protocol compliance, and scientific validity
-Develop clinical protocols and prepare clinical investigator brochures, clinical study reports and clinical sections of INDs and NDAs
-Coordinate activities of other key clinical team contributors, including clinical operations, biostatistics and clinical data management, product safety, microbiology, and information technology
-Select investigators, IRBs, interface with CRO project managers, conduct investigator meetings
-Communicate effectively with key opinion leaders, clinical investigators, study coordinators, and medical monitors
-Provide regular progress reports on the conduct and status of studies to clinical and medical specialty management
-Travel required up to 25%
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: Masters degree in an appropriate discipline (preferred Microbiology) and usually 12 years applicable experience or Doctorate degree in an appropriate discipline and usually 9 years experience.
Preferred Experience: Experience in Anti-Infectives or Allergy therapeutic area
