Essential Functions and Duties
A self-motivated individual, who is enthusiastic to pursue novel research in a newly established laboratory that focuses on cancer stem cell biology. Primary duties include the management of small mouse colony and preparation of tumor tissues. Prior experiences in basic cell biology techniques, such as the maintenance of cell culture, tissue sectioning and immunohistochemistry required. Experience in molecular biology strongly preferred. Candidates will be encouraged to develop short-term hypothesis-driven research projects.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in biological science discipline.
Minimum Job Experience
Summer research experiences/ 1 yr lab research experience.

Job Title Research Assistant II
Essential Functions and Duties
A self-motivated and highly organized team player who is excited to pursue novel research directions in a laboratory that focuses on cancer stem cell biology. Primary duties include day-to-day planning and execution of experiments. Extensive experience in cloning and molecular biology is required. Experience in gene knock down using shRNA, and the production of retrovirus and/or lentivirus is strongly preferred. The right candidate will be considered to take up a laboratory management role in the long term.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in biological science discipline.
Minimum Job Experience
2-5 years lab research experience.
Preferred but not required
Other basic cellular and molecular techniques in the laboratory, such DNA, RNA and protein extraction, PCR, qPCR, tissue sectioning, immunohistochemistry and western blotting.
