Research Scientist- Biosurfactant
Three year industrial experience with focus on isolation, characterization of bacterial cultures, optimization of cultures/consortium, biosurfactant production, biofilm and biodesulfurization.
Position Requirements
Develop methods for identifying aerobic/anaerobic surfactant producing bacteria
Establish the techniques for mutant cultures development for enhanced biosurfactant production
Develop processes for maximizing biosurfactant for mesophilic and thermophilic saline environment
Identify the type of biosurfactant and synergistic effect the other biosurfactants
Perform basic and advanced procedures in routine microbiology areas of a lab
Write and execute study protocols, methods and SOPs
Exhibit good fundamental laboratory skills
Accept and follow technical work direction
Setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory instruments.
Identify problems and implement solutions as directed
Actively participate in a team environment
This role will handle multiple priorities; require a high level of quality service, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be highly motivated, a self-starter, and self-directed is required.
Knowledge of anaerobic techniques is preferred and experience in culture isolation is desirable.
Required Education/Experiences:
MS/Ph D microbiology/biochemistry/biochemical engineering and minimum of two years increasing technical experience in an industrial laboratory preferably in biosurfactant process development
