Im subletting my studio apartment November 14th - December 1st -- perfect for a Thanksgiving getaway. A two-minute walk takes you across a bubbling brook into the center of town, replete with charming art galleries, coffee shops, and boutiques. Woodstock is wonderfully walkable: my apartment is a quick jaunt from the internet caf library, laundromat, organic grocery store, and bus stop with daily buses to/from NYC. Its the perfect escape for a writer or artist whos seeking a peaceful interlude with the Muse (as a writer myself, I find daily inspiration -- its my private piece of paradise).
The two-room unit is in a converted farmhouse with a private porch and entrance. The kitchen is quaint and -- even better -- full, with stove/oven/fridge/microwave/juicer/blender/crockpot at your disposal. A hallway leading from the kitchen opens onto the main room, featuring hardwood floors, a comfy Ikea sofa bed, and lots of light. All of this is at your disposal, too, although please dont dispose of my sofa bed: Im a starving artist and need somewhere to sleep. There’s no TV or internet in the apartment (it’s done wonders for my ability to focus), but if you walk about 40 feet from my front door, you can always pick up a nearby wifi signal for urgent email sending and serious internet addictions.
$590 for 17 days, all utilities included -- which comes down to $34.70 a night. Try finding THAT rate at a Woodstock Bed & Breakfast.
My one entreaty: that you throw some water on my rapidly dwindling herb garden every couple of days. Despite the cooling temperatures, I’d love it if my basil and rosemary survived the chill. And no smokers, please. Better for your lungs and my linens both.
