Dog Facility offering dog daycare, boarding, grooming, and training is located in a busy strip mall in Westminster. The business currently serves a wonderful, upper class client base. Many dogs come 2 to 4 days a week and the clients view them as their children. For daycare, clients drop off their pets in the morning and pick them up at night. The dogs enjoy being free to roam around and mingle in a large indoor/outdoor play areas with their friends - other dogs and people. When it too cold or too hot, the dogs can come inside into a large play area while still having access to the outside. There is also a smaller play area for smaller dogs to play in separate from the larger dogs. There are also web cameras, so their clients can watch their dogs play while in daycare. The boarding area is all cage-free. Each dog has an individual room that is furnished with an elevated bed. These dogs get to participate in daycare when they are not in their rooms for meals during the day. We also has space to hold weekly group training classes and would be able to expand to individual training. We also offers full service grooming and has all the equipment needed to run a dog grooming salon with one or two groomers at a time.
This is a 7 day week business with shortened hours on Sunday. Dog Daycare runs $22 a day and boarding runs $32 a night. Easy to operate. Currently there are 3 people supervising dogs in the morning, plus a manager. In the afternoon there are 3 people on staff until 4:00, plus a manager and then 2 people to help close up and put the dogs away for the night. People in the play areas are responsible for making sure the dogs are exercising and staying out of trouble, keeping the area clean, cooling off the dogs, giving them water etc.
For daycare, we has enough space for accommodate up to 70 at a time. Currently the daycare runs about 25 35 dogs a day. There are 18 rooms of various sizes available for boarding. There have been as many as 43 dogs staying the night at a time. After about 1 1/2 years of operation, business is experiencing consistent, steady growth, and this growth is expected to continue. Possible redevelopment of the shopping mall area across the street and installation of a light rail station close by will also stimulate growth.
