We currently have vacancy for Substation Engineer (Voltage Range: 10kV - 400kV) in our High Voltage Group. The work of the High Voltage Group is dominated by the detailed engineering design of distribution and transmission facilities for our clients. Currently much of this work is based in India
Key Responsibilities for a Substation Design Engineer
Detailed design covering all aspects of H.V. equipment (switchyard layouts, busbar arrangements, switchgear, transformers, protection systems, etc.)
Detailed design of secondary control and protection systems including auxiliary supplies, signal/alarm systems, relays, etc.
Conceptual design studies and reports
Preparation and interpretation of technical specifications and enquiry documentation
Tender evaluation and technical management of material framework contracts
Development of design processes
Contract administration, construction supervision, project management
The Candidate
Organised and adaptable with a flexible approach to work.
Ability to work on own initiative and to strict deadlines.
Strong ability to prioritise with excellent organisational skills.
Excellent Communication and report writing skills.
Experience / Qualifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years experience.
A background in the application of protective relaying schemes, based on modern numerical relays, for HV transmission systems would be an advantage.
Experience in a utility/consulting environment would be preferred but manufacturing or contracting experience could also be relevant.
Salary dependent on experience
