SRS Labs is experiencing progressive growth and is seeking a Field Applications Engineer. This position will play a vital role in helping to enhance our reputation and quality directly with our customers. It presents an opportunity to interact directly with Engineering, R&D, Sales, and Marketing individuals in the top companies in every major segment of consumer electronics.
Position Overview
This position will report to the Manager of Field Applications Engineering and Customer Support. The purpose is to provide engineering support for customer companies in each industry segment we operate in, as well as engineering support for Sales presentations and internal Marketing needs. This requires an individual who has a passion for audio and enjoys working with people. The individual will need to be a motivated and quick learner.
Domestic and International travel will be required in order to personally address issues in the field. The Field Applications Engineer may be asked to support Sales by presenting technologies directly to prospective customer engineers during the initial Sales process. This position presents a unique opportunity to utilize interpersonal and communications skills as well as engineering skills.
This individual will also be asked to participate in listening tests coordinated by our R&D department during the development of new audio and voice technologies.
Core Responsibilities
Provide engineering support for customer companies in each region: Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe
Respond to and resolve customer issues, utilizing the support of SRSs engineering team
Deliver technical training for internal sales/marketing teams and external clients
Create demonstration audio and video files using existing content
Assist sales team with presentations to customers
Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
Coursework in C / C++ / DSP
Passion for audio and music
Strong interest in DSP concepts
Strong communication and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, including working with other cultures
Ability to multi-task
Quick learner
Willingness and legal status to travel freely up to 40% both domestically and internationally
Location: Near John Wayne Airport
