CivilSource, Inc. is a privately owned civil engineering consulting firm engaged in a variety of multi-disciplined projects, specializing in water, wastewater, and public works projects. The majority of our clients are government agencies, whom we assist with design and construction management.
We are currently seeking a CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR to conduct inspections of public improvements, utility, and private contractor projects including the construction, repair, maintenance or alteration of streets, curbs, sidewalks, water & sewer facilities, underground utilities and related structures.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in construction inspection.
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized and technical training in the building and construction trades.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
Inspects work quality and materials used in a variety of public works projects or construction projects; reviews traffic control; monitors construction; ensures compliance with plans and specifications.
Observes work during progress and upon completion; ensures that safety procedures are followed; advises contractors of changes in plans and variances.
Prepares detailed data of construction progress and inspection; prepares various reports on daily operations and activities; researches construction methods and materials.
Prepares various inspection reports as required; maintains files and reports regarding inspection and plan check activities and findings.
Skills in:
Interpreting and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, codes, ordinances and policies governing the construction of public works projects.
Reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
Making basic mathematical computations rapidly and accurately.
Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
