Drive the designfit-out, testing and commissioning of a 60-unit solar energy-based distributed power plant in a career-making role as an Electrical Engineer for Stirling Energy Systems (SES) in Phoenix. This is a singular opportunity to enhance your professional profile contributing to the successful commercialization of a reference plant incorporating our proprietary SunCatcher technology. Your work will pave the way for starting two of the world’s largest solar contracts in 2010: a 1,000 unit and a 12,000 unit plant to supply grid electricity in southern California. This role is ideal for the engineer versed in the commissioning and maintenance of distributed power generating assets and use of, SCADA and CMMS who excels in deadline-intensive, start-up environments.
Stirling Energy Systems (SES), based in Phoenix Arizona, has been developing the SunCatcher technology, concentrating primarily on the engineering/design development functions. SES has now won two of the world’s largest solar energy contracts for the supply of grid-electricity at two locations in southern California. Following an equity investment by NTR plc in SES, the large scale commercialization of this technology and development of these projects is now proceeding. As the first Electrical Engineer for Stirlings field operations team, youll join a high-intensity group tasked with achieving "power on" for a 60-unit reference plant based on the SES SunCatcher technology. Your first mission will be to prepare a test and commissioning plan on which youll execute over the following three to six months. Your prior experience in distributed power generation assets will be crucial as you work with onsite SES teams and outside contractors putting in infrastructure such as cables, controls, fiber optics and hydrogen systems. Your project management experience will enable you to coordinate timelines and milestones so that all cross-functional groups are in sync. Youre still early in their implementation. So well look to you for sound judgment in both paving new ground and refining existing processes of check-out and commissioning of components, circuits and signals and system integrity tests. Looking forward, knowledge capture of your work and the formalization of all procedures involved in testing and commissioning the reference site will be vital to the success of our commercial projects due to start in 2010. Another major requisite to success in this position will be contributing on day one to the development of our SCADA system, and, ultimately, its integration with CMMS.
