General Responsibilities
This position involves a split between sales and engineering activities. The successful candidate will support the sales staff and operations manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support the manufacture of custom, screen-printed thick film hybrid substrates for the defense, opto-electronic, space and aviation industries
Interface with customers to obtain necessary information to quote, procure materials, create photo-tooling, plan, and build existing designs
Adapt existing designs that use alternative technologies to thick film process using CAM tools
Interface with vendors to determine and obtain appropriate materials for each design
Collaborate with customer engineers and buyers to develop new designs based on communicated requirements
Identify internal quality issues and process shortfalls and implement corrective actions
Perform annual ISO audits and assist quality manager with company ISO meetings
Design and create plans for mechanical fixtures for processing
Generate Engineering Change Notices to track changes to customer designs and internal processes
Staff industry trade show exhibit, follow up on leads generated during travel
Call on existing accounts to inquire about current and future opportunities after periods of inactivity
Education and Experience
BS degree in engineering, materials science, or related technical field of study
Experience in and knowledge of electronics industry standards/practices
Able to take a leadership role in carrying out required tasks. Requires minimal supervision
Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and work in a team environment
Excellent computer skills including AutoCAD and MS Office proficiency
Knowledge of basic electronics and hands-on electrical/mechanical abilities such as soldering
Experience with thick film processing and materials and printed circuit board design is desirable.
Must be US Citizen capable of working on ITAR-protected defence projects
