Located in Kent, Washington, Valley Communications Center is a nationally accredited Regional 9-1-1 Center that provides emergency communications services to the communities of South King County. Valley Com, as we are known, is responsible for answering emergency 9-1-1 calls and dispatching resources such as police officers, firefighters and paramedics to citizens requiring assistance. Our service area spans from Seattle’s southern border to a few blocks south of the Pierce County line and from Vashon Island to the foothills of the Cascades.
Valley Communications Center is now accepting registrations to test for Communications Officer I/II (call receiver/dispatcher) positions. Previous experience in a public safety environment is desired but not necessary. You must be 18 years or older at the start of employment and have a High School Diploma or equivalent. There is a one time $10 testing fee and we offer paid training and excellent compensation and benefits.
