POSITION SUMMARY:
Primary responsibilities include working with project leads and managers to assist in the documentation of project goals, timelines and milestones and tracking of project progress, particularly through laboratory-related processes. This individual is responsible for day-to-day duties related to a projects administration and execution, and assists in the identification of issues impacting project progress. Other responsibilities include attending or assisting in the facilitation of project coordination meetings with laboratory personnel or other key group leads, assisting in management and reporting for grant awards, and other project-specific assignments and responsibilities as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with project leads and Sr. Scientific Director in the management and tracking of project progress.
Communicate project status and issues to stakeholders through periodic reports or documentation.
Assist project leads and Sr. Scientific Director in submission of progress reports to funding agencies.
Work closely with staff to resolve scheduling conflicts or laboratory issues.
Some administrative duties associated with management of relationships and contracts with third party collaborators or vendors.
Additional assignments and responsibilities as requested by supervisor.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of information gathering techniques, procedures, and practices.

Visio and Adobe Photoshop experience preferred.
Education/Experience/Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in biological science or related field. Neuroscience knowledge preferred.
3 + years relevant experience in project management position. Project Management certification preferred.
Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment in academia or industry.
Experience working in timeline and milestone-driven work environment.
Experience or knowledge of laboratory practices related to gene expression, imagine or histological staining preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Travel Required - 1-2 trips/year
Laboratory atmosphere - possible exposure to chemical, biological or other hazardous substances
Working at computer and using mouse for extended periods of time
Sitting, standing, bending, squatting as found in typical office environment
May be required to be available outside of standard working hours
