Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Get 2008 golden globe nominations

Roll out that red carpet - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie both scored Golden Globe nominations, it was announced Thursday.

Pitt is up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama for his role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, while Jolie scored a nod for her part in the Clint Eastwood drama Changeling.

There were some surprises: Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. were nominated for the comedy Tropic Thunder and James Franco got a nod for the pot comedy Pineapple Express.

Director Gus Van Sant's critically praised g-ay-rights biopic Milk was noticeably left off the Best Motion Picture category.

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast Jan. 11 from the Beverly Hilton at 8 p.m. on NBC.
