Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company Ltd, French car maker Peugeot's Chinese venture with Dongfeng Motor Corp, has rejected media reports that it has cut its 2008 sales target and laid off workers.
He declined to elaborate.
The official Xinhua news agency reported that Dongfeng Peugeot (other-otc: PEUGY.PK - news - people ) Citroen reduced its sales target for the year to 200,000 units from 280,000.
State media also reported earlier this month that Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen laid off 1,000 out of more than 9,000 staff in the country.
In the first nine months, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen's sales fell 4.6 pct year-on-year to 140,900 units.
