Gigi Jordan New York Peninsula hotel

Gigi Jordan, 49, was found in Room 1154 of the hotel located on Fifth Avenue, and police say she was “babbling incoherently” when she was finally tracked down. Her son Jude was lying on the floor nearby, face up and foaming at the mouth, dead of an apparent overdose. It is said that prescription medication was scattered around the room, as well as several “notes,” although it is unknown whether they were suicide notes. The boy is believed to have been dead for roughly a day.

New York City’s luxury Peninsula hotel was the site of a failed murder suicide, in which socialite Gigi Jordan killed her 8-year-old son, reportedly over marital troubles.

Jordan is reportedly being uncooperative with the investigation and is not answering questions. The socialite left her home at Trump Towers on Columbus Circle on Wednesday night, subsequently checking into the Peninsula with her son. Police say she “paid the bill in cash, ordered room service and never left the room” after she checked in. Jordan reportedly had been in contact with an aunt in Belgium, threatening to kill Jude and herself. Her frightened aunt contacted the NYPD, and she was eventually tracked to the Peninsula.
