Shocking, the winner of the Melbourne Cup ridden by Corey Brown leads Crime Scene ridden by Kerrin McEvoy.

Ridden by Corey Brown, the winner of the Lexus Stakes on Saturday was well-supported on course.

It looked like that run of bad luck was going to continue when Shocking ($9.90 win, $3.60 place on the Victorian TAB) when he was forced to track three-wide into a stiff breeze throughout the race.

Godolphin-owned Crime Scene (Kerrin McEvoy, $10.80 place) looked the winner at the 200m, but a brave Shocking couldn't be denied, pulling away in the run to the line to win by three-quarters of a length. More:Shocking
