Is the H1N1 swine flu virus the same as human H1N1 viruses?
No. The H1N1 swine flu viruses are antigenically very different from human H1N1 viruses and, therefore, vaccines for human seasonal flu would not provide protection from H1N1 swine flu viruses.
Swine Flu Incubation Period
According to the authorities, the incubation period is quite short. In a recent briefing, the White House said it was 24-48 hours. Most cases of swine flu that have been confirmed support that the incubation period for this strain is very short. In general, the incubation period for the influenza virus (all types of flu) is 2 days, but can range from 1 to 5 days.
Swine Flu Symptoms
