Toni Braxton and Alex Mazo Dancing

Singer Toni Braxton traded rhythm for the blues with her elimination from "Dancing With The Stars" on Tuesday.

The singer started nicely on the series five weeks ago, but then hit a plateau with the judges, earning middle-of-the-pack scores that left her vulnerable to the whims of fans voting at home.

After earning just 22 points out of 30 possible on Monday, her fan support failed to keep her in the show in place of singer Lance Bass and actress Cloris Leachman who both tallied 21 points out of 30 this week.

The surprise of the week remained -- as it has throughout the series -- Leachman, whose dancing often pales in comparison to the entertainment value her clowning around provides.

Model Brooke Burke and former NFL star Warren Sapp continue to lead the pack on the seventh season of the hit ABC series. More:Toni Braxton, Alex Mazo
