The former Weston State Hospital has been a haven for ghost hunters on the weekends since it reopened. Now, the Ghost Adventures cast and the entire production crew has descended on Weston, preparing for a seven-hour lock down at the The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum.

Zac Bagans, Aaron Goodwin and Nick Groff are the Ghost Adventures Crew, and they will be the first television detectives to launch an extensive seven hour long investigation from the Asylum, live on Halloween Eve. "We are here to investigate this huge location that is one of the most haunted places in all America," said Nick Groff, who believes the Medical Ward is probably the best place to find ghosts on the hospital's grounds. "So we're excited to go in and get started investigating to see if it lives up to its claims."

What does it take to shoot a live event of this size?

"In terms of the type of gear we roll in here with, 140 people from start, top to bottom, technical side, the interactive side, the cameramen, the audio men, everything," said Senior Director of Content for the Travel Channel Charlie Parsons, who also works on No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain and Man vs. Food. "One hundred forty people, 37 cameras, and we started planning this back in March, so it's seven months in the making."

"This was our final big location," said Groff, "And we wanted to do it live, do it huge, and just investigate this location for the whole night and just see what kind of paranormal activity we can actually capture."

What you may not know about Ghost Adventures is that it is completely interactive. If you log onto their website at the link below, you can watch web cams that are posted around the asylum and help out if you see something suspicious.

"If they see shadows go by on a web cam they can text in to the guys and they can scroll [the message] across the bottom of the screen," said Parsons. "We can even tell the guys to go investigate something if you get a bunch of messages about one location."
