Looking for house/apt to RENT!

Hello. I am a chiropractor with a good job looking for a place to rent. Not too picky - could be a 1 or 2 bedroom. Would prefer some time of yard and garage, but not absolutely necessary. I work in Lakeville so preferably close to that. Some obstacles I need to overcome are these: 1) my credit is less than stellar after going through a divorce; however, I am very responsible and have a great job and make good money. 2) I am hoping to work out something on the down-payment - maybe pay it over the first 2 or 3 months or something like that 3) And lastly, I do not have a dog, but was hoping to get pup down the road. I would be happy to pay a deposit for that as well.
