Building a New House, Need Something Simple for 4 months

Nice, honest couple(31 years old) looking for a temporary home until our new house is completed in April. We close on our old house Nov. 20th and will need an immediate place to live. We do have 2 small (20 LB) dogs, which will remain kennelled for most of the time, especially when we are not home.

Ideally, we would like a garage apartment or guest house. Something with a fenced in yard would be a major plus, but I do not have my hopes up. Obviously, we are trying to save as much money as possible during this time. Willing to pay deposit/pet deposit as required. Additionally, I am very handy and can perform needed repairs or act as a maintenace man for the time that we are renting. If you have a vacant rental that you would like to make some repairs to, I would definitely consider a full/partial trade of services in lieu of rent. I have laid laminate wood floors, tile, painted, done landscape work. I can replace light and plumbing fixtures, but that is about the extent of my willingness to do electrical or plumbing work. I am a network administrator by day, but am very much a weekend warrior.

Our only 2, non-negotiable requirements are something in a safe area and that is reasonably clean. Everything else we can talk about.
