Im a 33 year old single mom of an almost 7 year old son. We have been living with family on and off for the last 2 years. Just this past September 23, I was a victim of domestic abuse by my ex-boyfriend and had to press charges and put his butt in jail. Unfortunately, he plead guilty and was only given 60 days (what a slap on the wrist!!). In county jail, they only have to do half their time, so he was out in 28 days. He has officially been released from jail and Im terribly afraid for our lives. We live only 4 miles from him and at any point he can jump on the city bus and come down here. I do have a protective order for my protection. In case you didnt hear me the first time, Im deathly afraid of this man and need to move away where he cant find me. He definitely does not have all his oars in the water, so I could move just 5-10 miles away and he wouldnt be able to find me. But as long as Im here with family, he can find me.
Im one of the most honest people you will ever meet. I do not have any kind of criminal background and can provide references as to my cleanliness and my overall character.
Ive contacted the Crime Victims Compensation Fund through the Attorney Generals Office and filled out the appropriate paperwork for some kind of help. They do have assistance for relocating, Im just not sure how all that works. Im currently looking for a full time job, but havent had any luck so far. Im praying everyday for a good job. I have been on several interviews and have applied with numerous staffing agencies to help me with my search.
My son is my life and I need to keep him safe from this idiot. I do not have the best rental history and cannot get an apartment due to it. Im looking for something INDIVIDUALLY OWNED or a garage apartment situation. Im not interested in renting a room or becoming a roommate. Ive had my share of those and it never worked out well.
Im open to any/all offers at this point. I just really need some help until I can get back on my feet!!
