The Texas Teaching Fellows (TTF) program is seeking a select group of outstanding professionals to use their math or science skills to teach high school students in the Austin area.
As math and science skills become more and more important in a technology-oriented global economy, our high school students are falling behind. You can use your skills and talents to become a math or science teacher.
Benefits of the TTF program include:
Opportunity to share your knowledge and love of math or science to high school students
Streamlined certification program. Earn your standard teaching certification in one year, while completing an internship on a probationary certificate.
Assistance in securing a teaching position. Receive support in your job search through resume and cover letter workshops, mock interviews and referrals to districts.
Intensive pre-service training Institute.Includes a student teaching component and content-based small group instruction.
Timely and relevant professional development. Training and support continue throughout the school year.
Full teacher’s salary and benefits ($40,000 $45,000). Earn income while completing your certification requirements.
Support network. Forge connections with TTF faculty and staff, peers, and district personnel.
Minimum requirements are:
A bachelor’s degree by June 2010
A minimum 2.75 GPA
Eligible to work in the U.S. (TTF cannot sponsor Work Visas)
Must not hold a standard teaching certificate from any state
