The Region XIII Educator Certification Program is committed to providing training in the most effective teaching practices and to maintaining close contact with participating schools and districts. The program strives to be responsive to the needs of clients: the teacher-interns, their students, and district personnel.
Teacher-interns in the Region XIII program benefit from:
-Field-based training with an emphasis on effective teaching practices
-On-going support during the first year of teaching from mentors and program staff
-Content taught by exemplary practitioners
-Training in the latest research-based, most effective practices
-A cohort of highly motivated fellow teachers with a wealth of life experiences
-Availability of specific remediation services
-Ongoing support and commitment for each teacher’s continuous professional development after
certification has been obtained
