The SES Lab Tech works directly under the Site Coordinator and with the students at the site to oversee the SES computer-based tutoring program for all enrolled students.
This position is located Norwalk, CA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively uses the administrator functions of a specialized software product, to enroll, disenroll, monitor, identify struggling students, and provide progress reports for enrolled students.
Is able to orient new students and new PL’s.
Gets students to assigned seats quickly, helps with log-in issues, and ensures that students spend their lab time on task.
Organizes student progress reports, updates them weekly, and shows students their individual progress confidentially.
Uses external tools (paper, manipulatives, etc.) to explain difficult concepts to students.
Utilizes the support structure for the class to get assistance with any issues connected with the software or student behavior.
Ensures the safety of students and the safe and responsible use of school equipment, including desks, CPU’s, monitors, keyboards, mice, chairs, and the internet.
Monitors all interactions between students in accordance with child safety guidelines.
Monitors student behavior and takes disciplinary measures when appropriate.
Identifies student progress and communicates this to parents, as appropriate.
Assists in creating and implementing student procedures, programs and activities.
Attends and participates in staff meetings and/or training as arranged.
Communicates with the Site Coordinator about problems or concerns.
Other Responsibilities:
Arrives punctually in order to meet responsibilities in class start up. Maintains close communication with Site Coordinator regarding planned or emergency absences for the same reason.
Serves as a positive role model for children in the program through appropriate dress, speech, attitude and courtesy.
Ensures that the space used for the class is left clean.
Maintains highest degree of confidentiality in student matters.
Complies with organization and site policies and follows procedures.
Hours: 10-15 hour per week, Monday - Friday
