A New York based fast growing home health care service company is looking for a part-time RN instructor for our Personal Care Aide (PCA) /Home Health Aide (HHA) training program.
Respond to: Director of Patient Service (DPS)
Responsibilities:
The instructor will have the immediate responsibility for the development, implementation, management and teaching of a curriculum which will qualify completing students for a Certified Personal Care Aide / Home Health Aide. Training will be provided in a licensed home health care agency facility in accordance with professional practice act and agency policy.
His/Her duties will include:
Prepare and submit a course of study including program objectives, student performance objectives and daily lesson plans;
Provides related instruction and supervises student training;
At the completion or termination of a student’s training, submits a report of the total number of hours of training the student received and the related skills achieved;
Submit to the director all forms and information needed for attendance accounting and grade reporting;
Perform other duties related to this position as shall be requested by the director or administrator.
Qualifications:
NYS Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Professional Nurse. A Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing;
Must meet the approval process by the Department of Health Services which includes one year of experience providing direct patient care in addition to one (1) year of experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing;
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, bilinguals are highly preferred. ( English and Spanish, or English and Chinese (Cantonese is a plus) )
Good Organizational writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
Work involves prolonged periods of standing, good eye/hand coordination and lifting up to 40lbs.
