Instructional Design Coordinator
The Instructional Design Coordinator for Goodwin College Customized Learning Solutions serves as the working leader for the continued development and improvement for colleges online courses and related course materials. This includes developing and delivering ongoing professional development to promote the facultys continued growth in preparing and teaching online courses, keeping appropriate faculty and staff abreast of the latest changes in technology for possible use in online courses, and coordinating development/post- development activities to help ensure that all online courses have a sound pedagogical design while remaining user-friendly.
Education and experience:
B.S. or B.A. required, M.S. or M.A. preferred.
Minimum 5 years work experience in instructional design, preferably at a college or university.
Experience developing and coordinating a faculty instructional development program.
Knowledge of synchronous/asynchronous learning and best practices in online teaching.
Must be able to perform under tight deadlines.
Outstanding computer skills:
Working knowledge of Blackboard and WebCT
Experience with html, xml, java and other Internet based technologies
Knowledge of Horizon Wimba, Camtasia, Articulate, Adobe Connect, streaming media and Flash Action Scripting
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Responsibilities:
Work with the faculty and staff to develop and design online learning materials/courses.
Work with faculty to define content and course development schedules for ongoing educational programs.
Work with faculty to ensure the timeliness and quality of content.
Work with faculty on updating/improving existing courses.
Ensure quality course design and delivery in accordance with Goodwin College teaching standards.
Provide professional development training to faculty on teaching and managing online courses as well as assist with an online/asynchronous faculty development program.
Implement surveys, measures and audits to monitor course design and delivery.
Manage the development of online courses to meet delivery deadlines.
Work with faculty on updating/improving existing courses.
Document instructional design processes and procedures.
Assist in the maintenance of Student, Faculty and Technology support resource websites
