Learning Partner for 8 yr. old boy with Autism

We are looking for someone to help in the home program of our son with Autism. He is high functioning, verbal and is one amazing kid!. He is first grade this year in a typical class with an aide. We currently are working on issues realated to keeping his attention, comprehending more of what he is reading and general compliance. The majority of the work is in our home but once a relationship has been formed, he loves going on any sort of outing. Training and supervision will be provided.

The open shifts we have are Monday from 4-7 and Saturday from 8-12. There is the opportunity to pick up additional shifts in the future. Full time work with him during Winter Break and Summer is also a possibility.

Experience working with children with Autism is necessary. You must feel comfortable being able to improvise how to implement certain goals into a play work/situation (i.e., making convesation, using descriptive words, etc.).
