TITLE: Part-time Learning Center Instructor (25-30 hrs/wk)
REPORTS TO: Education Coordinator
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under the direct supervision of the Education Coordinator, is responsible for implementing, organizing and supervising programs in the area of education.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
1. Discussing assigned teaching area with Education Coordinator to achieve instructional efforts.
2. Planning, preparing, and developing monthly Education calendar utilizing various teaching aids.
3. Conduct hands-on education activities for grades K 6.
4. Assisting students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
5. Developing and conducting activities which revolve around monthly themes.
6. Administering pre and post course tests.
7. Implement Boys & Girls Clubs national programs
8. May drive children to/from branch locations.
9. Assist with and attend field trips.
10. Ability to communicate positively with parents on progress of members.
11. Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the Learning Center.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with club staff and supervisor to receive/provide information and discuss issues.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent, plus meaningful work experience closely related to the tasks of the job.
Ability to plan and coordinate multiple and varied tasks.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Excellent team building and team leadership skills.
Energetic and motivated.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong customer service attitude
At least 21 years of age with clean driving record strongly preferred.
Prior experience working with children in a learning environment preferred.
