A little about me:
Civil litigation working for plaintiffs counsel was by far the most interesting and rewarding legal discipline I have experienced thus far, but if there isnt a type of law I havent done yet then I am certainly up for the challenge. I pride myself on being a quick-learner, resourceful, and very flexible. I always try my hardest to do my best, if not BE the best, at anything I do. I am currently stuck doing work for an office that doesnt utilize my capabilities. Its mainly administrative assistant work and quite frankly I feel my employer likes it that way so they dont have to pay me more.
I took my current position to learn labor and workers compensation law. I did so at the price of taking less than what I was used to making and the promise of a raise at the end of my 6 month probation period. Well I have been there over a year now and I honestly have learned very little and have yet to get that raise. It was never about the money, but to toss me an extra buck an hour would at least show me that I am appreciated.
I feel like a caged lion at the zoo. I want a new position somewhere in an office or firm that will use the talents I possess before my drive is gone, my ambition has dissipated, and my will is broken. I was considering starting my own business in construction, another profession that I once did well in, but my passion is for law.
I prefer to freelance or do independent contracting as it seems to be mutually beneficial to both contractor and contractee. It allows me to take home more of my hard-earned cash, as well as save employers a bit of money by not having to pay for benefits. I have my own medical which suffices for right now.
If you are looking for someone that you can trust to work with minimal to no supervision; resourceful; has an eye for detail; can draft pleadings; learn a case and spit it back to you; can do everything and anything you need to succeed in a case or to assist clientele; or just need an intimidating character to go with you to meet opposing counsel (its been done...funny story), feel free to contact me. I aspire to be the one of the best paralegals in this town, and when Ive had enough night school, I plan to be one the best attorneys in this town.
