Fort Shafter/ Pacific Theater Network Operations and Security Center
Description:
Service Desk Technician providing 24x7 Tier-1 IT support.
Requires broad IT skills in a dynamic environment working within a Network Operations and Security Center providing enterprise support to over 20,000 customers throughout the Pacific.
Must be comfortable working in support of military operations.
Provided second level problem resolution on the telephone with users
Walked the user through a series of steps to determine problem
Classified level, priority and nature of problem. If unable to diagnose problem and/or problem requires physical interaction with end user dispatches field engineers from appropriate team
Opened tracks and closes trouble tickets
Ensured problem ownership and promotes end user satisfaction
Tracked activities of field engineers to who tickets were assigned
Requirements:
Must possess skills and knowledge in computer hardware and software as well as networking systems in use at customer sites
Requires experience in the setup, configuration, use and trouble shooting of computer
Trained and certified in automated help desk management systems. Must be familiar with Remedy AR System and be a self starter
Must have a solid understanding of the Microsoft XP Operating System and possess detailed knowledge for all Microsoft Office Suite Software including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
Requires a basic understanding of LANs, WANs and Internet protocols
Monitor the Pacific Theater Network of the Army while maintaining all security operations at a Tier 2 level
