The Certified Service Technician is a position that is ideal for someone who has a minimum of an EPA License and lives to maintain, and repair all issues that arise in our apartment buildings and community, including HVAC repairs.
Job Description
Certified Service Technicians are the foundation of our business, responsible for:
Organizing and maintaining the maintenance shop so that it is safe and clean with adequate inventory of spare parts and maintenance materials
Ensuring hazardous materials such as cleaning supply, paint supply and pool chemicals are handled in the manner described by its appropriate MSDS and all tools and equipment are properly stored and well-maintained
Communicating with Maintenance Lead concerning maintenance supply inventory
Assisting the Service Manager and Assistant Service Manager in carrying out the service processes of the property, including corrective, preventative, routine, emergency and cosmetic maintenance
Informing Service Manager and Property Manager of needed services and repairs
Diagnosing and solving maintenance issues ranging from HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, interior/exterior repair, etc.
Daily property grounds clean up and ensuring property is in impeccable condition
Completing resident service requests for in-apartment maintenance
Handling all resident requests for service with a primary focus on air conditioning repair and fixing appliances
Performing property exterior projects and maintenance to common areas such as the office, community areas, tennis courts, etc.
Being available to perform emergency on-call duties
Additional projects and/or duties as assigned by Maintenance Lead and/or Property Manager
You Would Be Great For This Position If You
Have strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to work well in a high volume/stress environment
Pay attention to detail, have a caring attitude and take pride in your work
Are self motivated and hardworking
Have advanced skills in operating power tools
Have good people skills and a friendly/helpful attitude
Have a minimum of one year experience in residential/commercial property management, hospital maintenance or hotel/motel maintenance
Have the ability to read (English) and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.
Have the ability to write (English) on routine reports and correspondence
Have a variety of maintenance skills including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, general carpentry, painting, advanced HVAC, appliance trouble shooting and pool maintenance.
Have a positive attitude, dynamic personality and energetic demeanor
EPA, HVAC or Electrical/Plumbing Certification required
Willing to train the right person
Good communication skills a plus
High school diploma or post high school education preferred
Pool certification preferred
Multi housing experience preferred
Familiarity with landlord-tenant and fair housing laws a plus
Bilingual a plus
